409L flat bar is made of stainless steel 409 grade which is a general purpose, chromium, titanium stabilized, ferritic stainless steel whose primary application is automotive exhaust systems. 409L flat bar contains 11% chromium which gives the stainless steels their resistance to corrosion to form the passive surface film.
