Features
Although susceptible to rust formation, making this grade of stainless steel somewhat undesirable for decorative purposes, 409 is extremely resistant to various forms of gas corrosion.
It is suggested prior to welding, the steel is pre-heated to 150-260C and also suggested post-weld annealing at 760-815C.
